Eleanor Vance
Background
Eleanor started out on a regional sports desk, writing match reports and racecards, before moving to a betting-industry trade title, where she covered operator results and regulatory change. That second job meant reading Gambling Commission consultation papers for a living, which is why the licence section of every guide she edits comes near the top rather than in a footnote.
Since 2019 she has edited casino and sportsbook guides. Her test routine has not changed much in that time: open a real account, deposit a small amount with the payment method most readers would use, play through part of a bonus, ask live chat the awkward questions, then withdraw and time every step. Notes and screenshots from each test are kept on file so that any figure on this site can be traced back to the day it was recorded.
What she covers here
- Bonus and promotion terms, and what wagering costs in practice.
- Payments and withdrawals, including crypto.
- The sportsbook: markets, in-play betting and settlement.
- Offshore licensing and what it changes for players in Great Britain.
- Responsible gambling tools, and how well they work in practice.
How she works
Eleanor does not accept hospitality or gifts from operators and does not see the commission figures attached to any link on the site. Corrections are welcome. If you think something she wrote is wrong, email [email protected] with the page and the detail, and she will reply once it has been checked.
