Live chat is staffed around the clock. Here is how to get useful answers, and what to do when chat cannot fix the problem.

Chat is reached from the help icon on every page and is staffed 24 hours a day. Response times vary with demand, and evenings and weekend football afternoons are the busiest. Agents can explain terms, check the status of a withdrawal, apply limits and close accounts. They cannot overturn a decision made by the payments or risk team, so ask for an escalation if that is what you need.

Questions worth asking before you deposit

• "Which currency will my balance be held in?"
• "What is the wagering on the current welcome step, and is it on the bonus only?"
• "What are the daily and monthly withdrawal limits?"
• "Can I deposit without taking a bonus?"
• "Which documents will you need for my first withdrawal?"

Keep a record

Most chat windows offer a transcript by email, so use it. Screenshot the promotion you claimed and the terms on the day, and note the date and time of anything that goes wrong. A dated record is the single most persuasive thing you can bring to a dispute.

Raising a formal complaint

1. Ask chat to log a formal complaint and give you a reference number.
2. Put the complaint in writing: what happened, when, the amount, and what you want done.
3. Allow the operator the response time stated in its terms.
4. If you are not satisfied, escalate to the licensing authority named in the site footer, with your records attached.
